Following his knockout loss to Gervonta “Tank” Davis on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Ryan Garcia accepted the defeat with no excuses. Although Davis dominated most of the fight, Garcia had his moments before a perfectly placed left to the liver ended the bout.

At the post-fight press conference, Garcia revealed his plans to move up in weight class to junior welterweight, where he feels stronger. Despite losing at the 136 pound catchweight, Garcia did not blame the subsequent rehydration rule for his performance, stating that he signed the contract.

Garcia gave credit to Davis for his discipline and acknowledged that he made a mistake by getting bored in the ring. Despite the loss, Garcia is looking towards the future and plans to return to the ring in three months.

Garcia also clarified that there was no bad blood between him and Davis and that the pre-fight smack talk was just to get into his opponent’s head. He hopes to have a rematch with Davis someday.

Although the loss was a setback for Garcia, he remains optimistic and focused on his future in boxing. Moving up in weight class and returning to the ring in a few months, Garcia is determined to prove himself and continue his rise in the sport.
