In a surprising move, Richard Westbrook, a seasoned veteran in the IMSA prototype race, has teamed up with JDC-Miller Motorsports for the second season of GTP competition in America’s premier sportscar series. Westbrook, who scored a podium finish in the Le Mans 24 Hours and has three IMSA prototype race wins to his name, will be driving JDC’s Porsche 963. This partnership brings together a blend of youth and experience, as Westbrook will be working alongside Dutch teenager Tijmen van der Helm.

One notable change in the JDC-Miller Motorsports lineup is the departure of Mike Rockenfeller, who has now joined Ford’s factory GTD Pro lineup. Westbrook will be taking his place, with high hopes of continuing JDC’s winning streak. The addition of Westbrook not only brings talent and experience to the team but also adds a new dynamic to the mix.

Joining the team for the Michelin Endurance Championship rounds is Phil Hanson, another Englishman who brings his own set of skills and experience to the table. Hanson’s presence adds depth to the team and further strengthens their chances of success in the upcoming season. With a well-rounded lineup of drivers, JDC-Miller Motorsports is poised for a strong performance.

For the season-opening Daytona 24 Hours, American sportscar veteran Ben Keating will join Westbrook, van der Helm, and Hanson as the fourth driver. Keating’s expertise and experience will be invaluable in one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world. The team is confident that Keating’s addition will enhance their performance and provide the necessary support for a successful campaign.

JDC-Miller Motorsports had a solid performance in the previous season, running a customer Porsche 963 LMDh car. Despite joining the season from the fourth round due to supply chain issues, the team managed to secure some impressive finishes. With drivers like Rockenfeller and van der Helm behind the wheel, the team achieved a fourth-place finish at Watkins Glen and Mosport, and ended the season on a high note with a top-five finish at Petit Le Mans.

The team’s managing partner, John Church, expressed his satisfaction with the 2023 season and the experience gained by all the GTP teams. As they look towards the 2024 season, Church emphasizes the importance of having a balance of youth and experience within the team. With all their drivers having extensive prototype experience in IMSA, JDC-Miller Motorsports is confident in their ability to compete at the highest level.

Westbrook’s addition to JDC-Miller Motorsports brings a wealth of talent and experience to the team. With a strong lineup of drivers and the support of seasoned veterans, the team is looking to build on their successes from the previous season. The blend of youth and experience, coupled with their extensive prototype experience in IMSA, positions JDC-Miller Motorsports as a strong contender in the upcoming GTP competition.
