Canada Overcomes Slovenia

Canada also had to come from behind in their Group B match against newly promoted team Slovenia. After Jan Drozg’s opening goal, Canada responded with three goals in the second period. Michael Carcone and Jack McBain both had a goal and an assist, and MacKenzie Weegar had a goal and two assists. Pierre-Olivier Joseph and Milan Lucic also scored for Canada, while Drozg scored his second goal for Slovenia.

The United States will face Germany in their next game, while Canada will play Slovakia. In other games on Sunday, France played Denmark and Sweden played Austria in Group A, while Switzerland played Norway and the Czech Republic faced Kazakhstan in Group B.
