At just 29 years old, Jake Hill has quickly become one of the most promising drivers in the world of motorsports. With his recent transition to the Sunbury squad for the 2022 season, Hill has proved himself as an exceptional talent, finishing as its top-placed driver in the championship in both of his seasons there. Accumulating a total of nine race wins and a pair of third-place finishes in the points, Hill’s success is not to be underestimated.

Hill’s BMW 330e M Sport will continue to run under a separate guise to WSR’s official Team BMW machines, under the banner of Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport. Laser Tools Racing is celebrating its 10th season in the prestigious BTCC in 2024, while MB Motorsport is the brainchild of Hill’s manager, Mark Blundell, an ex-Formula 1 racer and Le Mans 24 Hours winner. The connection between Hill and Blundell dates back to 2019 when they were partners in the tin-top series.

While Hill will continue to drive the ex-Oliphant BMW he has raced since 2022, he revealed exciting plans for the future. In an interview with Autosport, Hill shared that the team is planning to introduce new facelift bodywork to keep the car current and updated. This commitment to evolution and improvement is a testament to Hill’s drive for success and his ambition to excel on the track.

Hill emphasized the importance of his working relationship with engineer Craig Porley, who has been by his side since his days at the AmD squad. Porley’s expertise and familiarity with Hill’s driving style have played a significant role in the driver’s success. Hill expressed his admiration for Porley, stating, “I love that bloke to bits, and we have a very good working relationship and friendship.” The continuity and loyalty displayed by Hill and Porley are undoubtedly factors contributing to their achievements on the track.

Despite being linked to potential opportunities in GT3 competition, Hill remains fully committed to the BTCC until he achieves his ultimate goal of winning the championship. He declared, “I don’t want to leave the BTCC until we’ve set out what we accomplished to do, which is to win it. Otherwise, what would this all have been for?” Hill’s unwavering determination and dedication to his craft are evident in his refusal to settle for anything less than victory.

WSR supremo Dick Bennetts expressed his excitement to extend the partnership with Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport for another year and have Jake Hill once again behind the wheel. With Hill’s proven skill and commitment, coupled with the strong relationship between WSR and MB Motorsport, there is great optimism for what can be achieved in 2024. The four-car line-up is expected to feature the team’s four-time champion, Colin Turkington, along with Adam Morgan, who joined the squad in 2023. As for the remaining seat, there are four contenders in the running, leaving fans eager with anticipation.

Jake Hill’s rise in the world of motorsports has been nothing short of impressive. His talent, determination, and strong partnerships have propelled him to the top of his game. With each passing season, Hill continues to evolve and strive for greatness, leaving a lasting impact on the BTCC and the world of racing as a whole.
