Chris Snee, a former All-Pro guard for the New York Giants and a two-time Super Bowl champion, has made a significant comeback to the Giants organization. Sources have confirmed to ESPN that Snee, who resides in New Jersey, has taken on a new role as a scout for the team.
After spending his entire playing career with the Giants from 2004 to 2013, where he excelled as a three-time Pro Bowler from 2008 to 2010, Snee attempted to return to the Giants organization multiple times after his retirement. He expressed interest in becoming an offensive line-specific scout, and he even interviewed with the general manager in 2022.
Following his retirement as a player, Snee transitioned into a career as an offensive line-specific scout for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He later worked as an analyst at Boston College, focusing on personnel and scouting, before reuniting with the Giants. Most recently, Snee was working with BC under new coach Bill O’Brien.
Although no specific details have been disclosed regarding Snee’s new role with the New York Giants, it is clear that his expertise in offensive line scouting will be invaluable to the team. The Giants have been struggling with their offensive line for several years, evident from the 85 sacks allowed last season, which was the highest in the league.
Snee’s return comes at a critical time for the Giants, who have made significant efforts to strengthen their offensive line during the offseason. With the signing of four veteran free agents, including two potential starters, the organization is clearly prioritizing the improvement of the offensive line. Snee’s experience and insights could prove to be instrumental in this process.
Drafted by the Giants in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Boston College, Snee had a remarkable career with the team. He appeared in 141 games, all as a starter, over a span of 10 seasons before being forced to retire in 2014 due to a hip injury. Snee was not only a skilled player but also a key part of the team’s success during his time with the Giants.
Chris Snee’s return to the New York Giants organization as a scout signifies a significant development for the team. His expertise in offensive line scouting and his deep connection to the organization make him a valuable asset. With the Giants’ continued efforts to strengthen their offensive line, Snee’s knowledge and experience could play a crucial role in shaping the team’s future success.
