Chris Armas has had a notable managerial career in Major League Soccer (MLS). He started as an assistant with the New York Red Bulls in 2015, working under Jesse Marsch. When Marsch left the club in the middle of the 2018 season, Armas took on the role of manager and led the Red Bulls to win the Supporters Shield that year. However, his success was short-lived, and he was let go by the Red Bulls during the 2020 season.
Armas then had a brief and unsuccessful stint as the manager of Toronto FC in 2021. Despite high expectations, the team failed to deliver satisfactory results under his leadership. Following this, Armas served as an assistant at Manchester United under Ralf Rangnick. He also had a short period with Leeds United, where he reunited with Jesse Marsch.
