With Gervonta Davis knocking out Ryan Garcia recently, boxing fans are eagerly waiting for the next big fight. And they won’t have to wait too long as Devin Haney, the undisputed lightweight champion, is set to take on former titlist Vasyl Lomachenko on May 20th in Las Vegas. The winner of this fight could potentially face Davis in the near future. But there are other contenders in the lightweight division, including former multi-division titlist Shakur Stevenson.

They’re Ignoring Me

Stevenson recently spoke to FightHub and expressed his frustration with the lack of attention he’s receiving from potential opponents. “They know I’m here. They’re just ignoring me,” he said. However, he’s ready to face anyone and is confident in his abilities.

Winning is All That Matters

Stevenson believes that fights with high-caliber opponents don’t always end in knockouts and that winning is all that matters. “All that matters is who, at the end of the day, is the winner,” he said.

After defeating Shuichiro Yoshino earlier this month, Stevenson is aware that his future opponents may be some of the best in the business. “I gotta make sure that I’m on top of my game because there’s a lot of great fighters in the (lightweight) division,” he said.

Staying at the Top

Stevenson plans on staying in the lightweight division for the foreseeable future. “I’m a little 135. I’m not moving up anytime soon,” he stated. This is good news for Stevenson and bad news for his opponents as he plans on staying at the top of his game, no matter who he faces. The lightweight division has some heavyweight competition within its ranks, but Stevenson is ready to take them all on.
