Formula E, the world’s first fully electric international single-seater racing championship, has appointed Jeff Dodds as its new CEO. Dodds has joined the championship from Virgin Media O2, where he served as the company’s COO for two years. Before that, he was the managing director and chief marketing officer of the company. He has also held executive roles at Honda and Callaway Golf. Currently, he is a board member of the disability equality organisation, The Valuable 500.

Dodds’ Excitement About His New Role

Dodds expressed his thrill about his new role as the CEO of Formula E. He said, “My passion for automotive, sport and entertainment means I am incredibly excited about this opportunity. Formula E is a unique platform that blends cutting-edge technology with the world’s most sustainable sport, providing endless potential for innovation and positive change.”

Agag’s Views on Dodds’ Appointment as CEO of Formula E

Alejandro Agag, the championship co-founder and chairman, welcomed Dodds’ appointment and said, “Jeff brings a proven track record of dynamic leadership and impressive execution to Formula E, and the Board looks forward to him unlocking the full potential of Formula E, for the benefit of our fans, teams, manufacturers, partners and stakeholders.”

Reigle’s Departure and Support for Dodds

On Tuesday, Formula E staff received the news that Jamie Reigle, who had been serving as the CEO since September 2019, would be stepping down from his role. Reigle confirmed that he would remain as an advisor through the end of the year and support Dodds during the coming months. Reigle said, “This mission continues under new leadership, and as someone who benefited from a partnership with Alejandro, I’m happy to support Jeff before reverting to life as a passionate Formula E fan.”

Formula E’s next round of the championship will take place in Jakarta on 3-4 June.
