Former Buffalo Bills All-Pro cornerback Tre’Davious White is set to sign a one-year, $8.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams, with a maximum value of up to $10 million. This move comes as a boost to the Rams, who were defeated in the wild-card round last season by the Detroit Lions. White’s agents, Kevin Conner and Robert Brown of Universal Sports Management, have confirmed the deal, which marks a significant transition for the talented cornerback.

White, who was released by the Bills as a post-June 1 release, allowing the team to save $10.2 million in cap space, is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a torn right Achilles. The 2019 All-Pro cornerback has faced a series of setbacks, including tearing his left ACL on Thanksgiving in 2021. Despite these challenges, White managed to return for six regular-season games and two playoff games in 2022, only to suffer another setback with a torn Achilles four games into the 2023 season.

Prior to his recent string of injuries, White, a 2017 first-round draft pick, and two-time Pro Bowl selection, had a relatively healthy NFL career. He had missed only three games and had never undergone major surgery until the ACL tear in 2021. Throughout his career, White has accumulated impressive stats, including 18 interceptions, 68 passes defended, 311 tackles, and 5 forced fumbles. In 2019, he tied for the NFL lead with six interceptions and was selected as a first-team All-Pro.

White’s decision to sign with the Los Angeles Rams marks a new chapter in his career. Despite the challenges he has faced in recent years, including multiple significant injuries, White remains a highly sought-after defensive player in the NFL. By joining the Rams, he has the opportunity to contribute to a team that is poised for success in the upcoming season. It will be interesting to see how White’s skills and experience impact the Rams’ defense and whether he can overcome his injury history to make a significant impact on the field.
