Ferrari will be adorning its SF-23 machine with a special livery at Monza as a tribute to its historic victory at the World Endurance Championship event this year. The car will sport added yellow V stripes on the nose cone and engine cover, reminiscent of the paint job worn by the victorious 499P Hypercar. This victory at the blue-riband event was particularly symbolic as it coincided with the 100th anniversary of Le Mans. In addition to the yellow stripes, the race numbers of the drivers, Charles Leclerc (#16) and Carlos Sainz (#55), will be stickered in yellow as well.
A Nod to Ferrari’s Yellow Background
Ferrari’s special livery at Monza also pays homage to the team’s long-standing association with the color yellow. While the iconic Rosso Corsa red is typically associated with Ferrari, it is important to note that this is derived from Italy’s national racing color. The true significance of the color yellow lies in its representation of the city of Modena, which is home to the Scuderia. The race numbers, parts of the halo, rear wing endplates, Ferrari logo on the rear wing main plane, and engine cover were all adorned with the vibrant color.
Aside from the special livery, Ferrari has announced that the walkway leading from the paddock to the pit garage at Monza will showcase illustrations depicting the team’s milestones not only in Formula 1 but also in other racing categories. This visual retrospective aims to celebrate the rich history and success of the Scuderia in motorsport.
Special Guests and Iconic Machines
Ferrari will have some distinguished guests at Monza to further highlight its achievements. Former Alfa Romeo F1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi and Alessandro Pier Guidi, who piloted the #51 499P to victory at Le Mans this year, will be present at the event with their well-deserved winners’ trophy. Alongside the WEC Hypercar, Ferrari will also showcase two other iconic machines: the new 296 GT3 sportscar and the F2003-GA grand prix car, which Michael Schumacher famously drove to victory at the 2003 Italian GP.
