Every team in motorsport has a moment in the season when they can do something extraordinary, and for DS Automobiles, the Monaco race presents the perfect opportunity. As a team jointly running with Penske Autosport, geographically closest to Stellantis Motorsport, located in the Paris region, DS Automobiles sees Monaco as an ideal setting to welcome customers, prospective clients, and brand enthusiasts. With the championship taking place near the brand’s headquarters, DS Penske plans to stand out by adorning their electric single-seaters in a ‘Grand Gala’ theme for the eagerly-awaited Monaco weekend.
Director of DS Performance, Eugenio Franzetti, explains the inspiration behind the special livery for the Monaco race. Drawing influence from the extravagant gala evenings typical of the Principality, DS Penske’s cars, as well as the drivers’ overalls and helmets, will be dressed in deep black with gold logos. The aim is not only to pay tribute to the luxurious outfits at Monegasque parties but also to honor one of the most legendary races in motorsport. Even the DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 used by the drivers to travel to Monaco will feature this unique design, creating a cohesive look for the entire team.
Following the double-header at Misano, Jean-Eric Vergne achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the driver with the most points (1,047) in the championship since his arrival in 2014. With 34 podium finishes, 11 wins, 15 pole positions, and two drivers’ titles under his belt, Vergne reflects on his journey in Formula E and expresses his motivation to score even more points in the future races. His success exemplifies the dedication and skill required to excel in the competitive world of motorsport.
Monaco holds a special place in the heart of every driver, as it is a race that each one dreams of adding to their list of achievements. Both DS Penske drivers, Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne, have tasted victory in Monaco during their championship-winning seasons. As they gear up for the upcoming race, the team remains optimistic about their performance, considering the potential displayed during the practice sessions at Misano. The drivers’ anticipation is not only for the on-track success but also for the post-race gala dinner, where their attire will complement the ‘special Monaco’ decoration on their cars.
The Monaco race weekend presents a unique opportunity for DS Penske to showcase their creativity and style with the ‘Grand Gala’ theme. From the specially-designed livery to the coordinated team attire, every aspect reflects the team’s commitment to excellence and their appreciation for the traditions of motorsport. As the drivers prepare to take on the challenging circuit in Monaco, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of every racing enthusiast, aiming to create unforgettable moments on and off the track.
